FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What if I become pregnant during training? Congratulations! We love babies! We have had other pregnant women in the program before and though you may not be able to physically participate in all the asanas, your feedback is invaluable to other students about how certain poses feel or limitations you are experiencing. This is real life knowledge that can be beneficial in learning modifications for all teachers for when pregnant women enter their classes.
What if I injure myself during training? Bummer, we know the feeling, but this is not uncommon. While you may not be able to participate in all the asanas, your feedback is invaluable to other students about how certain poses feel or limitations you are experiencing. This is real life knowledge that can be beneficial in learning modifications for all teachers when an injured student enters their class.
I can't do a handstand, can I still do Teacher Training? Join the club! Lots of students can't! It's not required that you come into the program knowing how to properly execute all the asanas, but you will learn about benefits, contraindications and modifications so that you can take that knowledge to your students. Every body is different and some poses will never be possible for specific body types. We learn about them, but physical participation/execution is never a requirement.
I don't have any formal training, can I still do Teacher Training? Of course! You don't come into Teacher Training an expert, you come to learn. Everyone in the class is on a journey of self discovery and it's a safe space to ask the weird questions and be supported as you expand your knowledge base.
I'm not in the same shape I was in my 20's, can I still do Teacher Training? Oh Honey, us either. You don't need to be in the best shape of your life to go through teacher training. You come to learn about yoga and it's not all physical. You are perfect, just as you are.
What if I miss a class? We understand that life may happen unexpectedly that may cause you to miss a class. You are able to attend the other concurrent session to make up contact hours with our lead trainer in this situation.
What if I miss a workshop? We don't recommend missing workshops, but if you do, you may contact the trainer for that module to find out if they offer other comparable workshops within the teacher training arena. Any makeup sessions of this type would be at your own expense. Otherwise, you may take the module (assuming we are still offering that exact same module) to complete the hours at your own expense.
